Get paid to teach robots.
AI companies are training on massive amounts of everyday video, screen and voice. Real skills — yours — are what they can't scrape. ROO$TER finds the paid project, sets the rate up front, and you record on your phone.
How it works, in six steps.
No résumé, no AI experience. If you can do the work, you can teach it.
Join the roster
First name and mobile. Tell us what you're good at — a trade, a craft, a job, a routine.
Quick interview
Two minutes with Rudy by voice or text. He maps your skills, tools, languages and setting.
Get matched
We match you to projects that need your exact background — and show the rate before you record a second.
Record on your phone
Film your real work first-person, capture your screen, or record your voice. Hands in frame, no faces, no private info.
Track every upload
Approved, partial, rejected or pending — per upload, with the minutes that count. No mystery.
Cash out
Earnings post per approved upload. Payout to your bank or debit card when you're ready.
Multiple types of tasks.
Whether you lay brick, cut hair, run CAD, take customer calls or wash dishes — there are projects that need people with your exact skills.
Egocentric Video
First-person footage of real work with your hands in frame. It's how robots learn to manipulate the world — and the most in-demand data type right now.
Screen Capture
Record how you actually use software — the clicks, the shortcuts, the workflow — so agents learn to do real computer work.
Voice & Audio
Natural speech in your accent, your language, your setting. Read prompts, describe your work, or narrate a task.
Phone Annotation
Label what's happening in clips, check AI answers in your field, or rate outputs. Expert work priced per task.
What it pays.
We show you the rate before you record — and we publish the market so you can hold us to it.
| Data type | Published market rate | What moves it up |
|---|---|---|
| First-person video (everyday tasks) | $3 – $9 / hr of approved footage | Steady phone, good light, clear hands, variety of scenes |
| First-person video (trades & industrial) | $6 – $15 / hr of approved footage | Real job sites, tools in use, tasks a robot can't yet do |
| Screen recordings | Per project | Full workflows in professional software, narrated |
| Voice & audio | Per project | Scarce languages and accents, long natural conversation |
| Annotation & expert review | Per task | Verifiable expertise (licensed trade, clinical, legal, finance) |
Ranges are published rates across the AI-data market as of September 2026, not a ROO$TER guarantee. Every ROO$TER project states its own rate before you accept it. Only approved footage is paid; rejected clips are never paid by anyone in this market, so we tell you exactly what gets approved before you press record.
Why do it through ROO$TER.
Others hand you a task list. We act like an agent whose job is your paycheck.
No blind recording
You see the rate and the approval rules before you accept a project. If the buyer changes terms, you hear it from us first.
You keep your footage
Licensed for AI training only, per project, opt-in and revocable. Never resold for ads or publishing.
Your trade pays more
Trade and industrial footage sits at the top of the market. Rudy's interview puts a bricklayer on bricklaying money, not dish money.
Every upload tracked
Approved, partial, rejected, pending — and why. Earnings post per upload so nothing disappears in a lump sum.
Works by text
Upload from your phone, ask questions by text, get paid without learning a new app.
ROO$TER members get first access
New projects open to ROO$TER members first, then the roster. Teach Robots itself is free to join.

Questions, answered.
Is getting paid to record videos for AI legit?
Yes. Robotics and multimodal AI companies license first-person footage, screen recordings and voice because models can't learn physical, real-world tasks from internet video. Marketplaces in this space report tens of millions of dollars paid to contributors. ROO$TER acts as your agent: we find the buyer, set the rate up front, and you record.
How much does it pay?
Published market rates for accepted first-person footage run roughly $3 to $15 per hour of approved video, with trade and industrial settings at the higher end. Screen, voice and expert annotation are priced per project. ROO$TER shows the rate before you record — we never ask you to work blind.
Do I lose ownership of my videos?
No. You keep ownership. You license footage for AI training only, per project, and you can withdraw future use at any time. We never sell your footage for advertising or publishing.
What kind of footage sells?
Real work with your hands in frame: bricklaying, tiling, cooking, salon work, repairs, gardening, dishes, CAD and software workflows, customer calls — anything a robot would need to learn. Steady phone, good light, 5–20 minutes, no faces or private documents.
Who can join?
Adults 18+ in the United States to start. Tradespeople, professionals, creators, parents — projects need people with real everyday skills, not experience with AI.
Is this the same as the ROO$TER creator membership?
No. Teach Robots is free to join and pays you per approved upload. The ROO$TER membership is a separate paid product for creators. Members get first access to new projects.
